Perotti And Carrade CPAs's roots run deep in Marin County. We are an outgrowth of a firm founded in Larkspur in the 1940s. Today we serve not only clients in every county of the San Francisco Bay Area, but assist clients all over the country as well as a few international clients. Since 1986, Perotti and Carrade has been providing quality, personalized financial guidance to individuals and businesses. Our expertise ranges from basic tax management and accounting services to more in-depth services such as audits, financial statements, and financial planning.

Our Team
Perotti and Carrade team of over 20 includes 14 Certified Public Accountants, 3 Enrolled Agents and 6 other professionals and is led by three principals, Denis E. Carrade, Kathryn E. Harris and Marc S. Samborski.
Denis E. Carrade, CPA, Shareholder
Denis E. Carrade has been with the firm from the very beginning. He resides in Novato with his partner Jeanne.
Education Background
Denis graduated from the University of Santa Clara in 1975 and received his Masters of Taxation degree from Golden Gate University in 1982.
Work History
Upon graduation from Santa Clara he started his long career in accounting by joining the Franchise Tax Board. Three years of working for the government helped him learn tax law and understand how the government operates. In 1982, Denis joined the predecessor firm as their tax Manager. In May 1986, Denis joined with Dave Perotti to found and create Perotti & Carrade.
Experience
In the 40 plus years that Denis has been in the tax and accounting business he has gained a very broad range of extensive tax knowledge and experience. His areas of expertise cross the entire spectrum of tax law including individual, corporate, partnership, estate and trust law. His real estate development experience provides Denis with a special insight into that field. He has also been heavily involved over the years in estate planning. He has also been involved in litigation support for family law and business valuation matters. Over the years Denis has been personally and professionally involved in the non-profit world. He has served at various times as a Board member for Novato Youth Center, Marin Alano Club, Novato Theatre Restoration Committee and the Family and Children's Law Center.
Kathryn E. Harris, CPA, Shareholder
Kathryn E. Harris joined the firm in July, 2005. She is a Marin native and currently lives in Corte Madera with her husband and two daughters.
Education Background
Kathryn graduated from University of Califonia, Los Angeles in 2005 with a major in Economics and a minor in accounting.
Work History
With more than fifteen years of providing accounting, attestation and tax experience for clients and in several industries, Kathryn became a shareholder in 2018.
Experience
Kathryn is primarily responsible for providing financial statement attestation services for our business clients. Her clients include a significant number of non-profit, as well as for profit organizations and retirement plans. Industries in which she has significant experience include: real estate management and development, affordable housing, wholesale distribution, customs house brokerage, and professional services. Non-profit organizations include: social services, affordable housing, educational and membership organizations including non-profits who are subject to uniform guidance.
Kathryn also provides income tax preparation assistance to individuals, businesses, and nonprofits. This includes helping clients with determining the tax implications and strategies surrounding stock options. She has experience with companies in the real estate industry and services sector. She also assists companies in evaluating accounting systems or in system creation.
Marc S. Samborski, CPA, Shareholder
Marc S. Samborski joined the Firm in February, 1989. He lives in San Rafael with his wife and children.
Education Background
He graduated with a BS in Accounting from Golden Gate University and subsequently earned his Masters in Accounting and Taxation also from Golden Gate University. He received his CPA certificate in March, 1985.
Work History
Before joining the Firm, Marc had seven years experience with two local CPA firms in San Francisco.
Experience
In the 40 plus years that he has been in the tax and accounting business, he has gained a very broad range of extensive tax knowledge and experience. His areas of expertise cross the entire spectrum of tax law, including individual, corporation, partnership, estate, trust and non-profit. He also prepares Form 5227 for charitable remainder trusts and charitable lead trusts as well as Form 990-PF for private foundations.
Marc has also been heavily involved in trust and estate planning, including extensive experience assisting attorneys with trust income tax filings such as Form 1041 and estate tax Form 706 filings.
He also has significant experience assisting individual and small companies with foreign filing issues, such as FBAR filings, Form 8938, Form 5471, Form 5472 and Form 8865. He assists US corporations that have foreign subsidiaries or foreign corporations that own US subsidiaries, as well as providing US expat tax preparation services. His clients from the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, and Mexico among others. He speaks German and some French, and has assisted attorneys with their clients' IRS OVDP filings or streamline.
His other areas of expertise include oil and gas operations, companies that are small independent oil & gas producers and royalty owners. This includes depletion issues and alternative minimum tax issues, multistate and composite state filings for both individuals and types of business entities.
Marc is also responsible for maintaining Information Technology for the firm.
